The Austin Shredders overcame a good performance by Cape Fear right fielder José Montoya to knock off Cape Fear, 8-5, at Austin Baseball Grounds. Montoya went 3 for 4 with a home run and a double. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. The Shredders now have a record of 21-43.

The Shredders got a lift from shortstop Jack Wesman, who in the bottom of the third hit a bases-clearing double. His 5th double of the season put the Shredders on top, 5-0.

"In baseball, you have your ups and downs," said Cape Fear manager Francisco Catazara. "You just try to stay level-headed the whole time."
