Mad Popes Coast to 11-2 Victory
The Sacramento Mad Popes scored a convincing win at The Basilica at Muskrat Slough, defeating the Omaha Cyclones, 11-2. One of the hitting stars was slick-fielding second baseman Senzo Sato who was 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. Their 39-27 record puts the Mad Popes second in the Frick League Pacific Division.

With Sacramento leading 7-2 in the bottom of the seventh, Sato came up to bat against Omaha pitcher Ken Sproul. Sato hit a fastball to left for a 3-run home run. His 2nd home run of the season put the Mad Popes on top, 10-2.

Said losing manager Sylvester Reed: "At the end of the day, we've got to play better."
