Flyers Win at Home, 4-0
|
The Charlotte Flyers got a good effort from starter António Santiago in defeating the Austin Shredders at Family Dollar Field. The final score was 4-0. The winner was Santiago. He threw 5.1 innings of shutout ball. The loser was Glenn Hargrove. With the win, Charlotte upped its record to 40-27.
Dallas Dixon had a big 2-run double for the Flyers in the bottom of the sixth inning. With Charlotte leading 2-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a changeup from Glenn Hargrove, the 3rd overall pick in the 2053 draft, and swatted a double to left. It was his 8th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Flyers ahead, 4-0.
"I think we all put in a good day's work," said Santiago.
