The Boise Spuds and New Orleans Crawdads played an entertaining game for The Commanders Palace patrons.

The Boise Spuds beat the New Orleans Crawdads, 3-2. Boise pitcher and Ottawa, Canada, native Jeremy Nickerson led the way. The winning pitcher was Nickerson, now 2-5. He tossed 8 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 1 and fanning 6. Mario Santos recorded his 16th save for Boise.

Boise used the timely hitting of Pedro Hozven to seize the win. The designated hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Spuds on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"I thought Jeremy threw the ball well across the board," said Boise manager Mario Contreras.

The Spuds have now won 5 straight.
