The Phoenix Talons defeated the Atlantic City Gamblers, 7-4, at Denny's Paul D. Lunn Memorial Stadium Presented By Subaru. Phoenix was led by former first round draft pick Adrian Tallent, who was 2 for 4 with a home run. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3. Phoenix reliever Gabriel Carlos got the win, raising his record to 2-3. Juan Oliver was tagged with the loss. The Gamblers have now dropped 5 straight.
G'Tuda Choppa hit a 3-run home run off Juan Oliver in the bottom of the eighth, which put the Talons ahead, 7-4. In addition to the homer, Choppa had 1 double, while going 2 for 4.
In postgame comments to the Phoenix Daily, Choppa said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
