Morris Belts Bunch of Base Hits
|
It doesn't happen very often, but it did for Ron Morris -- a 5-hit effort. He went on a rampage at Kangaroos Field and paced the 29-12 Conquistadors win over the Australia Kangaroos.
After his dynamite batting performance, the Central America left fielder told reporters that he "just tried to get in a good count and have a good at-bat. That's all I can control."
His philosophy paid dividends today. He slammed 5 hits in 7 tries and put his name in the record book. Ron Morris hit an RBI single in the 1st, flied out in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off Brendan Walcott in the 3rd, flied out in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 6th, singled in the 6th, singled in the 8th and walked in the 9th.
So far in 2063 Morris is batting .460 with 4 home runs, 31 RBIs and 50 runs scored. He has 52 hits in 113 at-bats and a .568 OBP.
