Keeter Strokes 5 Hits
Even as a kid, Rodrigo Keeter said his coaches told him the key to hitting was making contact, and letting everything else flow from there. At Athens Park, Keeter showed how well he learned that lesson.

The 18-year-old left fielder had 5 hits in 6 at-bats for the Africa Monarchs, helping his team knock off the Eastern Europe Kings by a score of 15-12.

"They always said, just keep your eye on the ball, don't overswing, make contact and you never know what will happen," he said. "That's all I did."

Rodrigo Keeter hit a solo-shot off Mario Pérez in the 1st, tripled in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, struck out in the 5th, singled in the 7th and hit a two-run home run off Ismael Betancourt in the 8th.

Keeter is hitting at a .424 mark this season. His stats show 18 home runs, 37 RBIs and 37 runs scored. He has played 28 games for the Monarchs.
