Yarborough Goes 5-for-5
|
It was a sensational day at the plate for Eric Yarborough as he led the charge to a nifty 10-9 win over the Kangaroos. The Asia first baseman was pure misery for the Australia pitching staff. He left them shell-shocked with 5 hits in 5 at-bats in an explosive display of hitting.
"Yarborough put the ball into play and he really hit it hard," said Natanael Barral, manager for the Kangaroos, after the game. "When you do that, you've got a good chance to do some damage. And that's what happened. I feel like we threw some good pitches, but he just put some good swings on the ball."
Eric Yarborough singled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Thomas Devereux in the 6th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 9th.
On the year, Yarborough is hitting .366 with 30 hits, 2 home runs, 19 RBIs, .471 OBP and has scored 20 runs.
