Surfers Come Back Late to Top River Monsters, 7-4
The Long Beach Surfers withstood an impressive performance by Twin Cities designated hitter Raúl Gallehos to defeat the River Monsters, 7-4, at Land O' Lakes Ballpark. Gallehos went 3-4 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Francisco Ramírez picked up the win in relief. His record improves to 2-1. Jorge Durán suffered the loss. Long Beach is now 27-42, Twin Cities 42-27.

The result might have been different, had it not been for 24-year old second baseman Juan Simpson. Simpson had a run-scoring double in the top of the ninth inning to put the Surfers ahead, 5-4. For the game, Simpson had 1 double and 1 single in 4 at-bats.

"I'm proud of the way we took care of business and got the 'W' today," Simpson told the Long Beach News. "Whatever it takes."
