The Valencia Stars beat the Long Beach Surfers, 6-4. Valencia pitcher and Zhengzhou, China, native Qing-lai Ou-yang led the way. Long Beach drops to 1-6.

The Surfers had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the Stars going into the bottom of the fourth inning. That changed quickly when the 22-year old second baseman Shu-de Sa came to the plate. Sa hit a bases-clearing double on a 1-1 curveball from Long Beach hurler Brody Picot. It was Sa's 1st double of the year.

"It was a good night for them and a bad night for us," said Long Beach manager Mike Ellis.
