Gamblers Deal Talons 4-1 Defeat

The Atlantic City Gamblers beat the Phoenix Talons, 4-1, at Denny's Paul D. Lunn Memorial Stadium Presented By Subaru. Starting pitcher Kent Johnson was a big reason why. He held his opponent in check all game. Johnson picked up the win for Atlantic City, going 6.1 innings. He gave up 1 run on 5 hits. He now sports a record of 8-5. Picking up the save was Jesús Martínez, his 13th.
Unem Ploid, who led the FL in hits with 229 in 2050, had a direct impact on the outcome. Ploid contributed a 2-run home run in the top of the fifth inning to put Atlantic City up, 4-0.
"I thought we played a nice game," Ploid told the Atlantic City Bulletin. "Good pitching, timely hitting, it was all there."
With the win, Atlantic City goes to 31-39, while the Talons fall to 27-43.
