Carrillo Pitches Beavers to Shutout Victory
"Good pitching beats good hitting" is an old baseball adage.

Well, good pitching also beats bad hitting.

Emílio Carrillo of the Adirondack Beavers proved the point at Port-au-Prince Park, holding the Port au Prince Purple Aces to 5 hits in a complete game shutout victory.

"Carrillo made us look real bad today," Purple Aces manager Duncan Gardner said in a postgame interview. "He was outstanding. He was down in the zone with all his pitches. Everything was sinking."

Carrillo had 5 strikeouts and gave up 1 walk as the Beavers took the 1-0 win.
