Okubo Rips 2 Home Runs in 9-4 Kernels Triumph
The Des Moines Kernels grabbed a win, 9-4, over the Long Beach Surfers at Vito Costantino Memorial Stadium. Des Moines center fielder Ken'ichi Okubo went 2-4 with 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice. The winning pitcher was Steven Clayton. He's now 7-4. He went 6 innings, allowing 4 runs on 9 hits for the Kernels. The Kernels move to 37-34 with the win, while the Surfers drop to 27-44.
