Led by José Barrera, the Louisville Sluggers defeated the Vancouver Mounties, 6-2. Barrera was 3-4 with 2 home runs. He scored 3 runs and drove in 4 for the Sluggers. Eduardo Cadibid, credited with the win in relief, is now 6-0. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2.1 innings. Louisville, now 38-33, holds down third place in the Frick League Heartland Division.

Barrera had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the sixth. On a 2-2 fastball from Topan Adjeng, he banged a 2-run home run to right-center, giving the Sluggers a 4-2 lead. It was the 20th home run of the year for Barrera.

Said losing manager Hung-k'uei Cui: "It's very easy to sit in an ivory tower and critique the pitching, but the bottom line is we need to score runs."
