Dewey McKim, who is tied for 2nd in the JL with a 2.61 ERA, never let the Oysters get in a groove. The left-hander used his bread and butter, his curveball, to pitch the Gamblers to a win, 2-0. Jesús Martínez wrapped it up, recording his 14th save. The 7th-place Gamblers have a record of 32-40.

The Gamblers got a big at-bat from right fielder Carlos Allen. For the game, Allen was 1 for 4 with a double, while adding 2 RBI. In the bottom of the first, with runners on 2nd and 3rd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 11th double of the season gave Atlantic City a 2-0 lead.

"The old adage is true," said Allen. "Good pitching stops good hitting."
