Thunder Bears Deal London 7-3 Defeat
The Moscow Thunder Bears defeated the London Monarchs, 7-3, at Bears Den. Moscow was led by 36-year old catcher Justin Bonfield, who went 2 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Moscow reliever Patrick Hawkins was the winner. His record is now 1-0. The losing pitcher was Ty Vannatta. The defending champion Thunder Bears are off to a horrible start to the season, notching only their 8th win in 20 games.

Bonfield had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the seventh. On a full count fastball from Ty Vannatta, he banged a grand slam home run to right-center, giving the Thunder Bears a 4-2 lead. It was the 2nd home run of the year for Bonfield.

"You need to show up when your number's called," said Bonfield.
