Fighting Centaurs Get Extra-Inning, 3-2 Win
|
The Athens Fighting Centaurs beat the Jerusalem Hebrew Hammers, 3-2, in 10 innings. Athens pitcher and Beau Bassin-Rose Hill, Mauritius, native Romain Cormier led the way. The loss lowers the Jerusalem record to 13-11.
Athens used the timely hitting of Huo-tu Shaw to seize the win. The center fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the tenth inning to put the Fighting Centaurs on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
Athens manager Raoul de Braber commended his team for delivering "maximum effort."
