Luca Maundrell, who is tied for 5th in the GBC with a 0.98 WHIP, pitched well, but the London Monarchs still fell short, losing, 4-2, to the Buenos Aires Brisas at Estadio Rico. Azhar Abu al Khayr picked up the win in relief. His record improves to 1-2. Luca Maundrell suffered the loss. By defeating London, the second-place Brisas improved to 19-18.
Buenos Aires took control in the bottom of the seventh. With no one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, Tony Horton hit a run-scoring single to make it 3-2, Brisas.
"I thought we played a nice game," Horton told the Buenos Aires Daily. "Good pitching, timely hitting, it was all there."
