O'Leary Now 8-11 After Beating Surfers
John O'Leary, who is tied for 7th in the FL in complete games with 1, never let the Surfers get in a groove. The right-hander used his bread and butter, his fastball, to pitch the Lumberjacks to a win, 5-0. The 7th-place Surfers dropped to 51-91.

O'Leary earned the win, going 7 strong innings for Portland. The native of Halton Hills, Canada, allowed just 3 hits, while striking out 7. Long Beach hitters did next to nothing against the right-hander.

"John was pounding the zone," said Portland manager Mons Raider.
