Spuds Zap Talons, 5-1
|
At F. Nephi Grigg Memorial Stadium, the Phoenix Talons and Boise Spuds were greeted by an enthusiastic crowd.
Josh Clark was nothing short of phenomenal for the Boise Spuds. The 33-year-old right-hander was a big reason his team beat the Phoenix Talons, 5-1. The Spuds now have a record of 65-78 with the win over Phoenix.
Tadanobu Otani had a big 2-run double for the Spuds in the bottom of the first inning. With Boise leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 3rd, he got a fastball from 37-year old left-handed pitcher Owen Geddes and swatted a double to left-center. It was his 31st double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Spuds ahead, 3-0.
"I managed to get ahead of guys and keep them at bay," said Clark.
