Mexico City turned a good effort from starter Johnny Nicholson into a win over the Austin Shredders at Austin Baseball Grounds. The final score was 5-2. Nicholson, now 9-9, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 3 hits, while striking out 5, walking 3, and allowing 2 runs. Jonathan Sobers notched his 18th save in 20 chances.

The Aztecs got a big at-bat from center fielder Júlio Martínez. For the game, Martínez went 1-4 with a triple. In the top of the second, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a run-scoring triple. His 4th triple of the season gave Mexico City a 1-0 lead.

"Throwing strikes was the main thing," Nicholson said.

The Aztecs move to 60-84 with the win, while the Shredders drop to 53-91.
