Phoenix Slaps 2-1 Loss on Spuds
|
The Phoenix Talons picked up a win at F. Nephi Grigg Memorial Stadium, courtesy of Mark Lolololo. The left-hander helped his team stop the Boise Spuds, 2-1. The save went to Manuel Parra, his 4th this season. With the win, the Talons have a record of 89-56.
The Spuds had been locked in a 1-1 tie with the Talons going into the top of the sixth inning. That changed quickly when the two-time All-Star Miguel Martínez came to the plate. Martínez hit a solo home run on a 0-1 cutter from Boise hurler Felipe Ledesma. It was Martínez's 25th home run of the year.
"We've got a great group of guys," Lolololo said, "and we're having fun right now."
