Bacaloglu Rips 2 Homers in 8-2 Win
|
The Valencia Stars bested the Long Beach Surfers by a score of 8-2, with first baseman Gabriel Bacaloglu getting the main credit. On the day, Bacaloglu went 3 for 4 with 2 home runs and a walk, while scoring 3 and driving in 4 for the Stars. Shiro Takahashi was the winner. He's now 6-14. The loser was 34-year old left-handed pitcher John Dawson. With the victory, the Stars record stands at 58-88.
In the first inning, Bacaloglu had a 2-run home run for Valencia. It was his 28th home run of the season and put the Stars on top, 2-0.
"We certainly don't want to get used to losing," said losing manager Mike Ellis.
