Kernels Lose at Home, 5-2, to Twin Cities
|
Twin Cities registered a win at Kid Krauss's Kum & Go Kourtyard by beating the Des Moines Kernels, 5-2. Pitcher Rubén Flores was one reason why the River Monsters triumphed. Andrés Gonzáles, who is tied for 7th in the FL in strikeouts with 144, nailed down the save. The River Monsters have an impressive 93-53 record.
It could have been a different outcome for Twin Cities, had it not been for Max Shepperson, the 2060 Sawyer Silk Sliver Slugger Trophy winner . Shepperson contributed a 2-run home run in the top of the third inning to put Twin Cities up, 2-0.
"When Rubén is on, he can really move the ball around," said Twin Cities manager Gerald Brandt.
