The San Antonio Outlaws defeated the Austin Shredders, 9-2, in part because of right fielder George Stickler. Stickler hit 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice for the Outlaws. César Franco, the winner, improved to 4-10. He held Austin to 2 runs on 6 hits over 7 innings, while racking up 10 strikeouts. San Antonio is now 67-82, while Austin is 57-92.

San Antonio left fielder Orlando Bott contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the second. With two down, he hit a changeup to right field for a 2-run single. It was his 125th hit of the season and put the Outlaws ahead, 5-0.

"The clubhouse can get insufferable after we lose, so I'm glad we pulled this one out today," Stickler told the San Antonio Today.
