Montreal Beats Charm City, 6-4
|
The Montreal Blazers topped the Charm City Jimmies by a score of 6-4. Leading the way was left fielder Jedidiah Marzuq. Marzuq went 3 for 5 with 3 singles, while scoring 2 runs for the Blazers. Peter Ramsey was the winner. Over 5.1 innings, he yielded 4 runs on 6 hits, with 1 walk and 4 strikeouts. Augusto Ayala recorded the save, making him 41 for 48.
Herman de Jonge had a big 2-run home run for the Blazers in the top of the first inning. With Montreal leading 2-0 and a runner on 2nd, he sized up a fastball from Rannal Seldon, who led the JL in wins with 17 in 2054, and punished it. The result was his 15th home run of the season, which put the Blazers on top, 4-0.
"I like our moxie," said Blazers manager Paul Scholes.
With the win, the Blazers have a record of 89-61.
