Sluggers Suffer 4-0 Road Loss
|
The Chicago Black Sox picked up a win at Vinnie Vitale Stadium, topping the Louisville Sluggers, 4-0. On the mound for Chicago was right-hander Carlos Moya. He played a principal role in the triumph. Moya yielded no runs over 6 innings to notch the win. He scattered 2 hits, walked 2, and struck out 7. His record improves to 14-9. The victory gives Chicago a record of 78-71.
Timofei Gadomsky had a big 2-run double for the Black Sox in the bottom of the third inning. With Chicago leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a sinker from former first round draft pick Seiichi Suzuki and swatted a double to right. It was his 13th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Black Sox ahead, 3-0.
"Carlos did a tremendous job," said Chicago manager Rocky Wattson.
