The Surfers grabbed a win, 4-2, at Vito Costantino Memorial Stadium, overcoming a fine effort from Bikini pitcher Paul Worboys. Worboys went 5.2 innings and allowed no runs. The win belonged to Salvador Cruz in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Enrique Aguilar took the loss for Bikini. The Surfers, at 57-94, have now won 4 straight.
Long Beach took a 3-2 lead on Elvan Masûkî's 3rd home run of the season. The 3-run home run, which Masûkî hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Bikini pitcher Enrique Aguilar visibly frustrated.
"Good pitching, clutch hitting," said Long Beach skipper Mike Ellis. "I can't complain."
