Blazers Stun Crawdads, 3-1
|
New Orleans got a valiant performance from pitcher Ed Smith, but it wasn't enough to beat the Montreal Blazers. Montreal won the game, 3-1. Smith threw 7.1 innings allowing 1 run for the losing team. Montreal reliever Adam Bristcoe picked up the win, raising his record to 4-2. Jayin Ranjani was tagged with the loss. Today's win puts Montreal at 90-62, while New Orleans falls to 72-80.
Jaime Serna provided a timely hit. The Montreal second baseman delivered a 2-run triple in the top of the eighth inning to put the Blazers on top, 3-1. It was his only hit in the game, but he made it count.
"What's not to like about a win?" said Serna.
