Charlotte Flyers starter Arturo Trevino turned in an exceptional performance against the Atlantic City Gamblers at Family Dollar Field, resulting in a Charlotte win, 3-2. Trevino, now 5-3, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 6, walking 1, and allowing 2 runs. Josh Dougherty recorded the save. In save chances, he's now 40 for 43.
Domingo Chávez hit a solo home run off Dewey McKim in the bottom of the third, which put the Flyers ahead, 3-2. In addition to the homer, Chávez had 2 doubles, while going 3 for 4.
"That's baseball," said Atlantic City manager Mario González. "Sometimes the other team plays better than yours."
The triumph puts Charlotte at 90-62 for the season.
