Surfers Pin 3-2 Loss on Bikini
|
The Long Beach Surfers, despite a fine performance by Bikini pitcher Paul Glass, grabbed a 3-2 win at Forever Field. Glass allowed 2 runs over 6.1 innings. Muneer bin Khairy got the win, improving to 1-10. He worked 8 innings, giving up 2 runs on 10 hits, while striking out 1 and walking 3. The victory makes Long Beach 52-100.
Hasheem Makin, who finished 5th in the FL in runs with 113 in 2053, had a direct impact on the outcome. Makin contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put Long Beach up, 3-2.
"We had the game right there for the taking," said Bikini manager Kate Fiscus. "But we decided not to take it."
