Stars Lose, 7-2, to Portland
|
Portland beat Valencia on the strength of starting pitcher John O'Leary's fine effort. The right-hander led his team to a win, 7-2. O'Leary picked up the win for Portland, going 6.2 innings. He gave up 2 runs on 5 hits. He now sports a record of 9-11. The last-place Stars have dropped 5 straight games.
Portland used a clutch at-bat from Daniel Frampton to capture the win. The third baseman hammered a grand slam home run in the top of the first inning to put the Lumberjacks ahead, 6-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
"I think it speaks for itself, I think we came out and we played our kind of baseball," said Frampton.
