Johannesburg Wins, 7-6, Over Brisas
|
Golden Palace was host to some action-packed drama.
The Johannesburg Gold turned back the Buenos Aires Brisas, 7-6, at Golden Palace. Emílio Cordero, in particular, had a fine performance. He was 5-5 with a home run and 4 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. Johannesburg is now 22-21. Buenos Aires is 15-25.
The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the ninth. With no one out, Cordero hit a sinker from José Núñez for a solo home run. The Gold, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.
"No time for flexing," said Cordero. "It's always one game at a time."
