Shredders Drop Hustlers, 3-2

The Las Vegas Hustlers could not turn a fine performance from pitcher Peter Ramsey into a win. Instead, the Austin Shredders prevailed, 3-2. Ramsey threw 6.0 innings of 4-hit ball. Faqih bin Nasser earned the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2 innings. His record is now 1-2. Getting the save was Nelson Middlebrooks, his 30th.
Austin third baseman Felipe Hernández helped the Shredders go up, 3-2, in the bottom of the seventh inning. With the game tied, Hernández hit a run-scoring single off Las Vegas pitcher Rafael González.
"We're just going to try to build off this win," said Hernández.
Austin is now 59-94, Las Vegas 80-73.
