Coxtolstoy has 3 hits, Leads Sluggers to Win
|
The Louisville Sluggers defeated the Nashville Bluebirds, 9-4, at Kentucky Truck Plant Stadium. Louisville was led by 22-year old third baseman John Coxtolstoy, who went 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 5 RBI and scoring once. Louisville starter Garrett Skiffington was credited with the win after throwing 98 pitches over 7 innings. His record now stands at 6-16. The Sluggers go to 68-85, putting them 5th in the Frick League Heartland Division.
Gustavo Canales drew 1 walk for Louisville. The two-time All-Star had a key at-bat in the bottom of the fourth. With no one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 1-1 tie with a run-scoring walk off Bin-ying Yen. It was his 30th walk of the season.
Louisville manager Bernardo Herrera commended his team for "putting the pedal to the metal."
