Qing-lai Ou-yang, who is tied for 9th in the FL in quality starts with 15, had a strong outing for the Vancouver Mounties against the San Fernando Bears at Northwoods Outpost. The right-hander was a big part of his team's 4-3 win. Ou-yang got the win, improving to 7-6. He gave up 5 hits and walked 4 over 6 innings. He allowed 2 runs. The save went to Jesús García, number 38 for him.
The Mounties got a big at-bat from designated hitter Royce Hinkle. For the game, Hinkle was 1 for 2 with a home run and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the fourth, with a runner on 3rd, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 32nd home run of the season gave Vancouver a 3-2 lead.
"It's a mindset," said Ou-yang. "Just trying to do your job, trying to be consistent."
Vancouver is now 78-75, San Fernando 77-76.
