The Cairo Pharaohs soundly defeated the Sydney Sharks, 11-2, at Pyramid Park. Boulus bin Altair, who led the GBC in RBI with 147 last year, let his bat do the talking. He was 3-5 with a home run and 2 doubles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 7 for Cairo. The win lifted the Cairo record to 34-10.

With Cairo leading 8-0 in the bottom of the fifth, bin Altair came up to bat against Sydney pitcher Juan Blanco. bin Altair hit a slider to right for a bases-clearing double. His 11th double of the season put the Pharaohs on top, 11-0.

Sydney manager Jim Sánchez called the blowout loss "not what we wanted."
