Jerusalem Sunk by Tokyo, 2-1
|
Tokyo pitcher Hassan bin Zuhair did his part in helping his team beat the Jerusalem Hebrew Hammers, 2-1. The right-hander kept opposing batters from doing too much damage. bin Zuhair picked up the win for Tokyo, going 6 innings. He gave up 1 run on 2 hits. He now sports a record of 1-4. The 4th-place Pearls have won 6 straight.
The Hebrew Hammers had been locked in a 1-1 tie with the Pearls going into the bottom of the fourth inning. That changed quickly when the 34-year old center fielder Adam Alomar came to the plate. Alomar hit a solo home run on a full count fastball from Jerusalem hurler Leo Hill. It was Alomar's 1st home run of the year.
"Tough loss," said Jerusalem manager Alfredo Cuellar. "Tough one to swallow."
