Surfers Absorb 6-1 Loss at Forever Field
|
Takashi Nakamura, who is tied for 8th in the FL with a 7.8 K/9 rate, was terrific for the Bikini Krill in his team's 6-1 triumph over the Long Beach Surfers. His performance earned Nakamura rave reviews. Micheal Dixon recorded his 1st save for Bikini. The 'W' lifts Bikini's record to 86-68.
Manuel Martínez had a big run-scoring double for the Krill in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Bikini leading 2-1 and a runner on 1st, he got a cutter from 31-year old right-handed pitcher Arnold Richmond and swatted a double to left. It was his 19th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Krill ahead, 3-1.
Said losing manager Mike Ellis: "The list goes on and on of things we just flat out didn't do."
