The Vancouver Mounties polished off the Bikini Krill by the score of 8-4. The largest share of the credit belonged to third baseman Sergio Mendoza. Mendoza was 2-3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once for the Mounties. Vancouver pitcher Motka Beteev earned the win, hiking his record to 7-11. Arturo Meza suffered the loss. Adamnan Maryadi collected save number 4.
Vancouver used a clutch at-bat from Royce Hinkle to capture the win. The designated hitter hammered a grand slam home run in the top of the first inning to put the Mounties ahead, 4-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
"Our goal is to improve each and every day," Hinkle told the Vancouver Herald.
The win hiked the Vancouver record to 85-70.
