Walk-Off Seals 88th Victory for Tropics
The Hawaii Tropics overcame a good performance by Bikini designated hitter Vicente Rivera to knock off Bikini, 8-7, in 14 innings at ‘Iolani Palace. Rivera was 1 for 2 with a home run and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. The winner in relief was José Valle. The right-hander allowed 1 run on 1 hit in 1.1 innings. He now owns a record of 11-1. The Tropics lead the Frick League Pacific Division by 3 games.

The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the 14th inning, when Hawaii third baseman Jorge Dodd, facing Brain Capps, had a run-scoring ground out. It gave the Tropics the 8-7 win.

"This wasn't a good win," said Dodd. "It was a great win."
