Zombies Reel Off Another Win, 6-2
|
The Jacksonville Zombies topped the New Orleans Crawdads, 6-2, in Johnson League action at The Station @ CSX Field. The game was highlighted by the performance of Jacksonville left fielder Pablo Mathis. Alexander Swanson, the winning pitcher, improved to 13-9. He pitched 6.2 innings, giving up 6 hits and 2 runs, while striking out 5 and walking 0. The Jacksonville win streak is now 7 games.
The Zombies got a big hit from shortstop Pepe Aragón. In the bottom of the sixth, Aragón smacked a 2-run home run off New Orleans pitcher Juan De La Cruz. It was his 49th home run of the season. Suddenly, the Zombies were ahead, 3-2.
"We've been playing some good baseball," Aragón told the Jacksonville Today. "We're aggressive and focused on what we're going to do on the field and getting it done."
