Mexico City Aztecs pitcher Dave Corfield was all business, helping his team muzzle the Rocky Mountain Oysters, 6-1. Corfield, now 9-14, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 8, walking 1, and allowing 1 run. With the victory, the Aztecs upped their record to 82-75.

Abid Kakakhel had a big 2-run double for the Aztecs in the bottom of the sixth inning. With Mexico City leading 3-1 and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he got a sinker from 30-year old right-handed pitcher Harith Kadar and swatted a double to left. It was his 15th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Aztecs ahead, 5-1.

Said losing manager Marquise Cattaneo: "It's very easy to sit in an ivory tower and critique the pitching, but the bottom line is we need to score runs."
