Vancouver pitcher Dirk Bessi did his part in helping his team beat the Sacramento Mad Popes, 4-3. The left-hander kept opposing batters from doing too much damage. Dave Woolford picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 2-0. Bill Fitzpatrick was tagged with the loss. Sam Fisher collected his 1st save.
Greg Clover hit a run-scoring triple off Bill Fitzpatrick in the top of the ninth, which put the Mounties in front, 4-3. Clover had 1 single, in addition to the triple. For the game, he went 2 for 5.
"I like our mindset right now," said Vancouver manager Hung-k'uei Cui.
