The Sacramento Mad Popes picked up a win at The Basilica at Muskrat Slough, knocking off the Vancouver Mounties, 3-1. Starting pitcher Mario Reyes was a big reason why. Bill Fitzpatrick got credit for the save for Sacramento. It was his 22nd of the year. At 84-73, the Mad Popes claim second place in the Frick League Pacific Division.

The Mad Popes got a big at-bat from second baseman Yoshitora Goto. For the game, Goto was 2 for 4 with a triple and a double. In the bottom of the first, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a run-scoring triple. His 1st triple of the season gave Sacramento a 1-0 lead.

"Mario is a tough competitor," said Sacramento manager Fernando Pacheco.
