The London Monarchs defeated the Sao Paulo Pilots in 13 innings, 8-1, in part because of catcher Howard Tanner. Tanner was 4-7 with a home run and 3 singles, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once for the Monarchs. London is third in the GBC EurAsia with a record of 27-24.

London used the timely hitting of Roosevelt Davis to seize the win. The left fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the 13th inning to put the Monarchs on top, 2-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"We swung the bats good throughout the lineup," said London skipper Jack Gulliver.
