River Monsters Take Down Mad Popes, 5-4
The Twin Cities River Monsters picked up a win at Land O' Lakes Ballpark, taking down the Sacramento Mad Popes, 5-4. Starting pitcher Jerry Stone was a big reason why. Andrés Gonzáles got credit for the win, improving to 7-1. He allowed 3 runs on 3 hits in 2 innings. The River Monsters have an impressive 47-30 record.

Twin Cities took a 5-4 lead on Randall Gray's 5th triple of the season. The run-scoring triple, which Gray hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Sacramento pitcher Jeff Locke visibly frustrated.

"I just tried to attack the bottom of the zone," Stone said.
