Monarchs Lose to Brisas in Walk-Off
The Buenos Aires Brisas besoiled an otherwise fine performance by London second baseman Rubén Santiago by beating the Monarchs, 10-9, at Estadio Rico. Santiago went 4-5 with 2 doubles and 2 singles, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Buenos Aires reliever Ofato Paulo snagged the win, upping his record to 2-1. Ron McLeish shouldered the loss. Buenos Aires now sports a record of 33-43.

The decisive blow was delivered by Erik Robertsen in the bottom of the ninth when he hit a 2-run home run off 31-year old right-handed pitcher Ron McLeish to win the game for Buenos Aires. The home crowd went nuts.

"It was a solid team effort," said Robertsen after the game.
