Big Day for Martínez in 11-3 Swamp Foxes Win
The Cape Fear Swamp Foxes beat the Charm City Jimmies, 11-3, at Blackwater Field. Cape Fear right fielder Octávio Martínez had an outstanding performance. He belted 2 home runs, while adding 5 RBI and scoring twice. Waleed Hadad earned the win to go to 4-2. He allowed 2 runs on 10 hits, with 1 walk and 2 strikeouts in 7 innings of work. The Swamp Foxes are now 74-86, while the Jimmies fall to 92-68.

Martínez contributed a big hit, a 2-run home run, for Cape Fear in the bottom of the first. With his team trailing 1-0, Martínez took a fastball from Elvin Hilliard and stroked the home run to left-center. His 16th home run of the season allowed the Swamp Foxes to leap in front, 2-1.

"I keep on showing up every day and trying to put up good at-bats and find good pitches to hit," said Martínez.
