Pilots Post 7-6 Win Over Tokyo
|
The performance of Amin Asim proved critical in helping Sao Paulo beat Tokyo, 7-6. The Pilots left fielder was 2-4 with a home run. He scored 2 times. Travis Wearne, the winning pitcher, is now 1-0. He went 6.1 innings, allowing 4 runs on 7 hits, while fanning 2 and walking 1. Getting the save was Slawomir Trzcinski, his 1st.
In the top of the third, Sao Paulo first baseman Katsunan Hashimoto had a productive at-bat. With the bases loaded and one out, Hashimoto stroked a 2-run single to center. It made the score 3-0, Sao Paulo. For the game, he was 1 for 4 with a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
"Nice to tuck this win away," said Hashimoto.
The Pilots, at 35-43, sit in 4th place in the GBC AfSAmOc Division.
