Sharks Come Back Late to Clip Gold
The Johannesburg Gold got a sterling performance from pitcher Kiminobu Seki, but the Sydney Sharks still prevailed, 6-5. Seki threw 6.0 innings allowing 1 run. Reliever Edgardo Reyes picked up the win. His record improves to 1-2. Abdul-Sami bin Ya'qub took the loss. Slawomir Trzcinski, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 8th save.

Roger Kidd went 1-4 with a hit by pitch for Sydney. With two out and the game tied in the top of the ninth inning, Kidd, who is tied for 9th in the GBC ASAO in runs scored with 49, had a clutch at-bat. Facing Johannesburg hurler Abdul-Sami bin Ya'qub, he got hit by a pitch, driving in 1 run to give the Sharks a 6-5 lead.

"Feels good to get the job done," Kidd said after the game.

Sydney now owns a record of 40-38.
